Environmental Scholars Program

The goal of the Environmental Scholars Program is to prepare a talented group of undergraduates for positions of leadership in the environmental field. Each Scholar joins one of three teams: Field Biology, Urban Environmental Education and Environmental Policy. At the time of the Thoreau Foundation’s grant, the newest development in this Boston College program was its Urban Ecology Collaborative. The UEC seeks to develop a multi-city research agenda and comprehensive toolkit of urban ecosystem restoration methods. Besides Boston, other cities involved are Baltimore, New Haven, New York, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and Pittsburgh.
